La Pucelle Tactics is a turn-based strategy role-playing game from the makers of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and the game follows the same tradition as other turn-based RPGs such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Shining Force.
Playing as a group of young demon hunters, set in a medieval France fantasy world, you set out on a quest to clense the world of evil spirits and zombies.
The main character, Prier (serious attitude problem) is a rebel and has to be constantly scolded by her tutor.
The main characters in your party consist of Prier (the one with the serious attitude problem), her little brother Culotte and their tutor Alouette. But your party doesn't stop their, with each battle you have the opportunity to turn monsters to your cause by purifying them.
The game consists of cut-scenes, 2d towns, and isometric battle maps, all with an anime like quality and feel.
The battle-system can be slow at times, but what's unique about LaPucelle's battle system, is the dark energy flows, while these flows grant your enemies bonuses, they can be purified against your enemies, sometimes with a miraculous effect.
Not only can these dark energy flows be purified, but so can the enemies themselves, purify the enemy enough and it'll convert to your cause. This is an important part of the game, as you can continuous add to your roster, and train your troops (i.e. make them do push-ups, pet them, feed them etc.)
The game is very cute and would most likely turn off older gamers, but for fans of tactical RPGs, La Pucelle tactics is definately worth a try, if not a buy.
