Originally a sublimely addictive Japanese arcade game that enslaved all who played it, Puyo Pop Fever is a puzzler in the same vein as Puzzle Bobble, Tetris et al. Gameplay-wise, the general idea is to match up corresponding colours that fall into your area in an attempt to scupper your opponent's similar exertions in the other half of the split-screen, and well, that's about it really. The premise may be alarmingly simple, but don't let that fool you, this is one fiendishly playable and immensely enjoyable little title.
